Gwen Black is a visual artist, educator, curator, and founder Of Arts and Jazzfest NYC™ and IAM (Incorporation of Artists On the Move, Inc.) She has had the pleasure of working with the community over 30 years developing and producing cultural events and advocating for arts and education.

Gwendolyn Black Project: Reading and Puppetry™
Course Description: Join us for a session of reading and art making. Through this reading and art project, you will experience the joy of reading and sharing stories and turning characters into delightful puppets. Learn how to develop puppets using felt and recycled materials. Learn how to cut out a pattern, stitch/glue it together, and use recycled materials to decorate it.
Supplies Needed: Colorful felt pieces (12 x 12”), thread and (large) needle, glue (tacky), yarn, feathers, buttons, scissors, small safety pins wiggly eyes, black pom-poms and recycled objects that you have at home.
Note: All supplies must be purchased prior to the workshop (supplies can be ordered from Michaels Online, 99 cent stores, Family Stores, Econo Crafts Online and other stores where craft materials are available.
